Let’s Move Canada is an innovative national digital movement to inspire active communities and the healthy ways of Canadians.
While our reach is national, we recognize that every individual engages in physical activity in different ways and that Canadians and their families enjoy the parks, recreation and physical activity opportunities where they live, work and play. That is why Let’s Move Canada engages and empowers both Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
There are two components to Let’s Move Canada:
the Let’s Move Canada Challenge in partnership with Strava and
a health-focused Podcast Series.
The Let’s Move Canada Challenge is a unique, wholistic approach co-created by CHFI and IPACC, ensuring that Indigenous ways of knowing and being are at the centre of Let’s Move Canada. It is about the interconnectedness of individuals, family, community and nature.
The podcast series has various special episodes throughout the year including “Back to School” featuring Pedalheads and the Olympics and Paralympics episodes featuring Felix Dolci and Nathan Clement (Silver Medalist Paralympian, Paris 2024). We are engaging Canadians through our social media channels to inspire participation in community recreation, fitness and sport opportunities. Together they are making significant strides in supporting communities and nurturing all Canadians' physical and mental well-being as they engage in nature and their active communities.
The Let’s Move Canada Challenge 2024 began on National Health and Fitness Day and concluded on National Indigenous Peoples Day. This Challenge was an initiative of the Canadian Health and Fitness Institute and the Indigenous Physical Activity & Cultural Circle.
The Let's Move Canada Challenge was funded in part by the Canadian Government.
