Tammy Adams is a longtime member of the Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB) and currently serves as president of the CCB Rocks chapter—a dynamic group that fosters peer support, advocacy, and accessible recreation for people who are blind, deafblind, or living with vision loss.
Megan Kinna is a Canadian professional lacrosse player and coach. Raised in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, she started playing lacrosse at age four and developed a strong, physical style on the field. Kinna played collegiate lacrosse at Northwestern University, contributing as a four-year starter. She was also part of Canada’s U-19 National Team that won gold at the 2015 World Championships. Professionally, Megan has competed in the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) and Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse (AU), earning recognition for her aggressive transition play and powerful shot. Dr. Trish Tucker is a Professor in the School of Occupational Therapy and the Director of the Child Health & Physical Activity Lab at Western University. Dr. Tucker’s expertise are in the broad areas of health promotion, physical activity, and childhood obesity prevention. Her primary area of research is the measurement and promotion of physical activity with a particular focus on preschool-aged children.
Nigara Shaheen was born in Afghanistan. When she was six months old, her family moved to Pakistan, fleeing the Afghan War. At age 18, she moved to Kabul to study at the American University of Afghanistan. Shaheen qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics on the Refugee Olympic Team. Owner, Jessie Thomas, lost her job as an instructor and coach after 13 years in the fitness industry in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She not only needed to find work but saw a need in her community to keep people moving, connected and safe. So in June 2020 she converted her family’s 88 acre farm into a playground for outdoor fitness. Because exercise equipment and
weights were so scarce at the time, Jessie got creative by using things like hay bales, logs, tires and other things
that were common to the farm.
